The Internet Village Limited was founded in January 14th 2000, registered with The Gambian Government on March 10th 2021 and its mining ⛏️ research facility operation is co-located at a digital solar farm that has a capacity of 10 megawatts in the coastal village of Tujereng hosted in the cloud.
The youth led community development company wants to start with mining bitcoin at its data center and eventually offer computing services to other businesses, according to a statement shared TIV Media Group Publishing
The Gambia Cloud Data center will run TIV 840K HD Bitcoin Mining Machines and be co-located with a 10,000-square-foot research-and-development center and fulfillment facility in various communities connected by Internet Village Digital Access Points.
The facility will serve as a centralized research, training, testing, maintenance, and storage hub for Internet Village Digital Economy Transformation computing infrastructure.
The Internet Village miner is entering the mining industry at a time when existing miners are finding it difficult to remain profitable with the decline in crypto prices, hashrates that are near all-time highs, a tightening capital market, higher power costs and supply chain issues.
The Digital Economy Transformation Research Project is set to Launch additional solar routers and scrap metal framework that will increase the members profit with high hashing rates.
The company, however, was able to raise enough funding to secure the required switch gears and transformers for 240 megawatts of capacity.
